The Canadian Chamber launch: A beginning worth celebrating

On May 28, we launched the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Sweden. What a beginning it was. Close to 75 leaders from business, government, and media gathered at the Canadian Embassy in Stockholm for an evening that one guest described as having "a lot of love in the room."

On May 28th, we launched the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Sweden. What a beginning it was. 75 leaders from business, government, and media gathered at the Canadian Embassy in Stockholm for an evening that one guest described as having "a lot of love in the room."

Ambassador Robert Sinclair, Camilla Mellander, Director General for Trade Policy at Sweden's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Chamber Chair Shawn Walsh all spoke to the extraordinary moment we find ourselves in. As the Ambassador put it, the relationship between Canada and Sweden is at an unprecedented level across governments, companies, and people. That relationship now has a formal foundation. The Canada-Sweden Strategic Partnership, signed earlier this year by Prime Minister Carney and Prime Minister Kristersson, is a commitment to deeper cooperation across bilateral trade, defence, the arctic, sustainability, digital transformation, and innovation. It is an agenda built for this moment.

The message of the evening: the conditions for something remarkable are in place. Now comes the obligation to deliver. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Sweden exists to help make that happen, connecting the right people, generating investment, and holding both governments to account on delivering the full promise of the Strategic Partnership.

We are proud to welcome our founding Gold Leaf members: Swedish investment powerhouses Investor and SEB, and Canadian powerhouses Brookfield Asset Management and CGI , the first to believe in what we are building.

If your company aims to be part of this moment, you've found your community. Read more about becoming a Gold Leaf member  at the Chamber website.

This is just the beginning. 🍁

“The depth and dynamism of relationship between Canada and Sweden is at an unprecedented level across the board: our governments, our armed forces, our companies, and our peoples are closer than ever.”

Small Steps Create Big Shifts

It All Begins Here

Confidence doesn’t always arrive with a bold entrance. Sometimes, it builds quietly, step by step, as we show up for ourselves day after day. It grows when we choose to try, even when we’re unsure of the outcome. Every time you take action despite self-doubt, you reinforce the belief that you’re capable. Confidence isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about trusting that you can figure it out along the way.

The key to making things happen isn’t waiting for the perfect moment; it’s starting with what you have, where you are. Big goals can feel overwhelming when viewed all at once, but momentum builds through small, consistent action. Whether you’re working toward a personal milestone or a professional dream, progress comes from showing up — not perfectly, but persistently. Action creates clarity, and over time, those steps forward add up to something real.

You don’t need to be fearless to reach your goals, you just need to be willing. Willing to try, willing to learn, and willing to believe that you’re capable of more than you know. The road may not always be smooth, but growth rarely is. What matters most is that you keep going, keep learning, and keep believing in the version of yourself you’re becoming.
